Strange Day

|

I woke up at 6:00 this morning feeling wide-awake and alert.  I had breakfast, lounged on the internet, got ready for work, and had plenty of time to sit and chat with Sarah for a bit before leaving for the day.  My wife, as well, was uncharacteristically awake and alert early this morning.

I drove to work, listening to the radio for a while before I shut it off and started singing Bruce Springsteen’sThunder Road” to myself for the rest of the drive.

Once at work, I discovered there had been a substitute teacher mix-up and we were one sub short.  I volunteered to hang out and keep an eye on that class till a replacement arrived.

I finally got up to my office and I still have this huge grin on my face, for reasons completely unknown.

Contrast this with my usual routine of slamming the snooze button until the last possible moment, groggily taking a shower and getting ready for work in just enough time to be 1 minute early.  I miss breakfast, maybe have a banana while my computer boots at the office.

I have two theories for my great mood today:

1.  Someone spiked my Burrito dos Manos last night.

2.  My wife is pregnant and we just don’t know it yet.

I guess we’ll see. :-)
